Terms of Service

Last updated: July 30, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Lifeline National Institute™. Please read them carefully. By using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lifeline National Institute™, its website, courses, and services (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Platform.

2. About Our Certifications

Lifeline National Institute is an independent training provider offering online cognitive emergency response education. Important limitations apply:

  • Our certifications are cognitive (knowledge-based) and are completed entirely online.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Heart Association or any other certifying body.
  • Some roles and employers require an in-person skills assessment in addition to online cognitive training.
  • Acceptance of any certification depends on your employer and applicable regulatory policies.
  • Certifications are valid for two (2) years from the issue date unless otherwise stated.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for the accuracy of the student name entered on your certification; certificate names may not be changed after issuance without contacting support.

5. Courses, Enrollment, and Certification

Enrolling in a course grants you a personal, non-transferable license to access that course's content. You may not share, resell, or redistribute course materials. Certificates are issued to the named student upon successful completion and are verifiable through our public verification directory.

6. Payments and Fees

Course fees are displayed on the Platform and are charged in U.S. dollars through our payment provider, Stripe. Corporate accounts may receive tiered volume discounts applied automatically at checkout based on team size. Prices are subject to change; any paid enrollment is charged at the rate in effect at the time of purchase.

7. Refunds

Because courses are digital products accessible immediately upon purchase, all sales are final unless otherwise required by law. If you have not begun a course and believe a charge was made in error, contact support within 14 days of purchase to request a review.

8. Enterprise Portal

Organization administrators who use the Enterprise Portal are responsible for the accuracy of team member information and for having authorization to invite the employees they add. Administrators may view progress and certification data only for team members they have invited. Team members may request removal from an organization at any time.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, another user's account, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform, including certificate verification.
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or resell course content or certificates without permission.
  • Forge or misrepresent a certification record or certificate number.

10. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, including courses, text, graphics, logos, and certificates, is owned by or licensed to Lifeline National Institute and protected by intellectual property laws. Your certification does not grant you any rights to our trademarks or materials.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform and certifications are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that a certification will be accepted by any particular employer or authority, or that completing a course qualifies you to perform any medical procedure. Emergency response involves inherent risks; you are solely responsible for any action you take in an emergency.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lifeline National Institute and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Lifeline National Institute operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. We will seek to resolve disputes informally, but any unresolved dispute will be brought in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
