Liability Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
This Liability Policy explains the limitations of the education and certifications provided by Lifeline National Institute™. Please read it carefully before enrolling in any course or acting on any information from our Platform.
1. Educational Purpose Only
All courses, materials, and certifications offered by Lifeline National Institute™ are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Our training is cognitive (knowledge-based) and delivered entirely online. It is not a substitute for hands-on, instructor-led skills practice or formal medical education.
2. No Medical Advice
Nothing on this Platform constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Course content reflects general emergency response principles based on publicly available guidelines at the time of publication. It is not tailored to any individual's specific health condition, environment, or circumstances. Always consult a qualified medical professional for medical advice.
3. Assumption of Risk
Emergency response involves inherent and significant risks, including the risk of serious injury or death to the responder, the patient, or bystanders. By using our Platform and applying what you learn, you acknowledge that you assume all risks associated with performing emergency response techniques in real-world situations.
4. Not a Guarantee of Competence or Employment
Completing a course and receiving a certification does not guarantee that you are competent to perform any medical procedure, nor does it guarantee employment, licensure, or compliance with any employer or regulatory requirement. Acceptance of our certifications is solely at the discretion of the employer or authority reviewing them.
5. Good Samaritan Considerations
Many jurisdictions have Good Samaritan laws that may offer legal protection to individuals who voluntarily assist others in emergencies. These laws vary by location and circumstance. We do not provide legal advice, and we make no representation about the protections available to you in any specific situation. You are responsible for understanding the laws that apply in your jurisdiction.
6. In-Person Skills Assessment
Some roles, employers, and regulatory bodies require an in-person skills assessment in addition to online cognitive training. Our online certifications do not include or replace such hands-on evaluations. You are responsible for determining whether your situation requires additional in-person training or assessment.
7. Third-Party Guidelines and Content
Our courses reference publicly available guidelines from organizations such as the American Heart Association (AHA), ILCOR, and OSHA. We are an independent training provider and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by these or any other organizations. We make every effort to align with current evidence-based practices, but we do not guarantee that our content matches any specific organization's latest publication.
8. Certification Verification and Misuse
Certificates are issued to the named student and are verifiable through our public verification directory. Forging, altering, or misrepresenting a certification record, certificate number, or completion status is strictly prohibited and may constitute fraud. We are not liable for any consequences of misuse of our certificates by third parties.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lifeline National Institute™ and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, your reliance on course content, or any action you take (or fail to take) in an emergency or any other situation. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the course or courses giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lifeline National Institute™ and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your performance of emergency response techniques, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.
11. No Warranty of Outcomes
We do not warrant that completing any course will result in a successful medical outcome, the preservation of life, or the prevention of injury. Emergency situations are unpredictable, and outcomes depend on many factors beyond the scope of any training course.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Liability Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
